The Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is designed for individuals seeking to advance into supervisory, management, or business ownership roles within the construction industry.

Throughout the course, students will learn to:

Apply building codes and construction standards

Manage construction projects from planning to completion

Prepare cost estimates and tender documentation

Supervise onsite building and construction work

Administer construction contracts and legal requirements

Lead teams and manage workplace health and safety

Manage business finances and project stakeholders

Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications

Age Requirement

Age 18 – 45 yo

Minimum IELTS score of 6 or equivalent* OR A minimum of two (2) years of study at an AQF Level 4 or higher completed in Australia

Assessment

Knowledge Questions, simulations that may include assessment activities such as case study, practical assessment at live sites, role-play, presentation, report writing, creating templates, analysing, designing, performing, and presenting Building and construction-related work for inspection to stakeholders. Furthermore, depending on the unit, the student may be required to create flow charts, graph charts, analytical reports, a portfolio of evidence and/or diagrams, etc.
