Aged Care Course Geelong: Study CHC33021 Online From Home
You can do the whole aged care course from Geelong without driving up the highway for class. CHC33021, the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), runs online with live Zoom classes, and domestic students at The Performance College finish it in 6 to 9 months. The course fee is $2,500. Enrolment adds another $250, payable monthly or quarterly. You will still do 120 hours of supervised work placement in a real workplace, and we help you arrange it. Because the study is online and intakes run monthly, you can start in any month except December.
The Performance College Behind the Certificate
We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. Every qualification we issue is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, which is what makes it portable between employers and states.
Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023. She had spent years as a trainer and assessor, and started it because too many capable students were failing for lack of support rather than lack of ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.
The college is based at Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD. The full credential list, and the student outcome figures behind it, are on the Melbourne aged care course page.
How Study Works If You Live in Geelong
Live Zoom classes are scheduled sessions with a trainer, not a library of recordings you work through on your own. You log in from home, ask questions in the moment, and get the same class the Melbourne based students get.
That matters more in Geelong than it looks on paper. A round trip into the CBD for a class is most of a day gone, and for anyone already working shifts or managing school pick ups, that is usually the thing that stops them enrolling at all. Studying from home takes the travel out of the decision entirely.
You will need a computer and a connection reliable enough to hold a video class for its full length.
International students take the 52 week version of CHC33021, on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and intake dates for that cohort are set. The detail sits on the Melbourne aged care course page.
Where the Aged Care Work Is Around Geelong
Aged care is a substantial employer across the Geelong region. Bupa, Opal HealthCare, mecwacare and Homestyle all run aged care homes in and around the city, and homes like these are where personal care assistants are employed. That is the sector CHC33021 qualifies you to enter, which is the practical case for getting the certificate while you are living here.
Disability support sits alongside it, and the same certificate covers both specialisations, so the qualification does not lock you into one side of the sector before you have worked in either. That is worth knowing before you enrol, because it is the choice most people want to leave open.
Fees, and the Payment Plan
CHC33021 is $2,500 for domestic students. The enrolment fee is another $250. Work placement assistance is included in that.
The fee can be paid in monthly or quarterly instalments. There are no extra fees and no interest on the plan, and the course fee is simply divided into payments.
Some Victorian providers offer government subsidised or fee free places to eligible students, and it is worth checking your eligibility before enrolling anywhere. We are a fee paying provider, which is why we run the instalment plan.
Placement, and Fitting It Around a Job
The qualification requires 120 hours of supervised work-based training, and it has to be done in a residential care or in-home care facility with an approved NDIS provider. That is an assessment requirement of CHC33021, not a rule of ours.
The Performance College arranges your placement and has partner sites across Victoria, so you are not left cold calling providers on your own. The assistance is part of what the fee covers.
Placement is the part of the course to raise early if you are working or have care responsibilities at home. Where and when it happens depends on the provider that takes you, so tell admissions your situation at enquiry rather than after you enrol, and we can talk through what is realistic.
Some students are offered work by the service they did their placement with. That is a good reason to sort the timing out early rather than leaving it to the end of the course.

Your Next Step
Enrolling from Geelong comes down to two things worth talking through before you commit: how the 120 hours of placement will fit around your work roster, and whether you are eligible for a subsidised place elsewhere first. Domestic study is online, so once those are settled you can take the next monthly intake.
