Aged Care Course Bendigo: CHC33021 Online With Live Zoom Classes

Placement is the part of an aged care course that Bendigo students want pinned down first, so here it is. CHC33021, the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), asks for 120 hours of supervised work-based training with an approved NDIS provider. The Performance College delivers the rest of it online with live Zoom classes, so the drive to our Lonsdale Street campus never enters into your week. Domestic students finish in 6 to 9 months. Ring 03 9008 4043 and we will walk you through how the placement side works.

About The Performance College

We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. Every qualification we issue is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, which is what makes it hold its value if you move to another state or another employer.

Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023, after years as a trainer and assessor watching students come unstuck for want of support rather than ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.

The campus is at Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD, and the full credential list sits on the Melbourne aged care course page.

What the 120 Hours Actually Involves

Your 120 hours have to be done in a residential care or in-home care facility with an approved NDIS provider. That is an assessment requirement written into the qualification, specifically the unit CHCCCS040, not a condition we have added.

The Performance College arranges your placement and has partner sites across Victoria, so you are not ringing round facilities on your own trying to find somebody who will take a student.

Raise it with admissions early if you are already working. Rosters and placement blocks are the two things that clash, and they are much easier to sequence before you enrol than after.

Classes Run Live, and They Run From Your Kitchen Table

Live Zoom classes are scheduled sessions with a trainer. You are in the room, you can interrupt, and you get the same session as a student logging in from the city. It is not a folder of recordings left for you to work through alone.

For a regional student that is the whole argument. A day trip to the city for a three hour class costs you the day, and that maths is why plenty of capable people in central Victoria never get started.

You will need a computer and an internet connection steady enough to hold a video class end to end.

International students study on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and their intakes run to set dates.

Aged Care Employers Around Bendigo

Bendigo supports a substantial residential aged care sector for a regional centre. Bupa runs an aged care home in Bendigo, Uniting AgeWell operates its Strath-Haven community here, and Bentleys Aged Care has a campus on Violet Street. Those are the kinds of workplaces a Certificate III qualifies you to walk into, which is the practical case for training while you are living in the region rather than after you leave it.

Disability support runs alongside aged care, and CHC33021 carries both specialisations, so the qualification does not commit you to one before you have tried either.

Fees, and Whether a Funded Place Suits You Better

CHC33021 is $2,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250. Placement assistance is included in both figures.

The fee can be paid monthly or quarterly. There are no extra fees and no interest on the plan; the course fee is simply divided into instalments.

Victoria funds subsidised and fee free training places at approved providers for students who meet the eligibility rules, and Bendigo has publicly funded options. Check whether you qualify before you enrol anywhere, including with us. We are a fee paying provider, which is why the instalment plan exists.

Bendigo Questions

Do I have to come to Melbourne at any point?

Not for classes. Domestic delivery is entirely online with live Zoom sessions. The 120 hours of placement happen in person, in a workplace.

Can I do the placement locally?

Placement is arranged with our help, and where it lands depends on which provider takes you. Tell admissions you are in Bendigo when you first enquire so it is factored in from the beginning.

How long will it take?

6 to 9 months for domestic students. That is the full nationally recognised qualification, not a short course or a single unit.

Is there a free aged care course in Bendigo?

There are government subsidised and fee free places in Victoria for eligible students, so it is worth checking your eligibility first. Our course is fee paying with an interest free instalment plan behind it.

What kind of work does it lead to?

Personal care assistant, aged care worker, home care worker and community care worker roles, across residential homes and in-home services.

Before You Enrol

Two things are worth a phone call: whether a funded place is open to you, and how your 120 hours will sit alongside whatever you are already doing. Get those straight and the rest is just enrolling. The study is online and intakes run every month except December, so the next one is never far off.

Ring 03 9008 4043 or email info@tpc.edu.au. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
