Childcare Course Hoppers Crossing: CHC30125 Certificate III Online

A Montessori room, a long day care centre and an outside school hours program are three genuinely different jobs. The same certificate qualifies you for all of them, and it is CHC30125, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. The Performance College delivers this childcare course to Hoppers Crossing students online with live Zoom classes, in 6 to 9 months for domestic students. Ring 03 9008 4043 and we will help you work out which kind of service you would actually enjoy.

What The Performance College Is Registered To Do

We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. Registration is what allows us to issue a qualification that is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, rather than a certificate with no currency outside our own building.

Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023, after years as a trainer and assessor watching capable students come unstuck for want of support rather than ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.

The campus is Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD. The full credential list is on the Melbourne aged care course page.

One Certificate, Very Different Rooms

Hoppers Crossing has a broad spread of services. Milestones and Goodstart both operate here, Lili’s ELC and Little Learners run centres locally, and Hoppers Crossing Montessori Centre offers a different philosophy again.

Certificate III holders are employed across long day care, family day care, preschools, kindergartens and outside school hours care. The qualification is the same in each. What changes is the pace of the day, the age group and how structured the program is, and most people only discover their preference once they are standing in a room.

The Two Things You Need Before Placement

CHC30125 requires 160 hours of supervised work-based training in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. The hours are counted across the units that carry a workplace requirement rather than saved up for the end.

A current Working with Children Check is required before you can begin any of them. Apply early. It is free to hold and it is the usual reason a placement start slips.

The Performance College arranges your placement and has partner sites across Victoria, so locating a service is not your problem to solve.

What the Units Are Actually About

The unit names give you a truer picture of the job than any course summary. You will study nurturing babies and toddlers, developing positive and respectful relationships with children, supporting inclusion and diversity, using an approved learning framework to guide your practice, supporting the holistic learning and development of children, and helping children connect with the natural environment.

Read them again and notice how little of it is about minding children and how much is about developing them. That gap is the difference between the job people imagine and the one they get.

How Study Works From Hoppers Crossing

Live Zoom classes are timetabled sessions with a trainer in the room. You ask something and it gets answered there, rather than becoming an email.

Everything except placement happens from home, which for anyone in the west is the difference between a course that fits around a job and one that does not.

You will need a computer and an internet connection that carries a video class the whole way through.

International students study on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and their intakes run to set dates.

Fees, and the Funded Route

The course is $2,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250, and placement assistance is included in both.

Payment can be monthly or quarterly, with no interest and no additional charges.

Victoria funds subsidised and fee free places at approved providers for students who meet the eligibility rules. Check your eligibility before enrolling anywhere. We are a fee paying provider, which is exactly why the instalment option exists.

Hoppers Crossing Questions

Does the certificate work in a Montessori setting?

Yes. CHC30125 is the qualification for early childhood education and care generally. Individual services then train you in their own approach.

What do I need to enrol?

18 or over when the course begins, and Year 12 or an equivalent, or a 12 month qualification completed in English. Everyone sits a short language, literacy and numeracy assessment first so we know what support to arrange. International students also need IELTS 6.0 or an accepted equivalent.

Do I have to travel into the city?

Not for classes. Only your 160 placement hours are in person.

How long will it take?

6 to 9 months for domestic students, for the full nationally recognised certificate.

Is there a free childcare course near me?

There are subsidised and fee free places in Victoria for eligible students, so check first. Ours is fee paying with an interest free instalment plan.

Starting

If you are unsure which kind of service suits you, say so when you call. Placement is the part of the course where that question gets answered, and it is worth thinking about before it is scheduled rather than after.

Ring 03 9008 4043 or email info@tpc.edu.au. Domestic study is online, and there is an intake every month except December. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
