Childcare Course Dandenong: CHC30125 Certificate III Online

There are two very different things sold as an online childcare course. One is a folder of recordings you work through on your own. The other is timetabled classes with a trainer in the room, which is what The Performance College runs for CHC30125, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. A Dandenong student does the whole thing from home in 6 to 9 months, apart from 160 hours of placement in a real service. Ring 03 9008 4043 if you want to know which one you are being offered elsewhere.

The Performance College Behind CHC30125

We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. Everything we issue is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, which is what makes the certificate worth the same in another state or with another employer.

Rekha Sehrawat started the college in 2023. She had spent years as a trainer and assessor, and built it around what she kept seeing: able students failing for lack of support rather than lack of ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.

The campus is at Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street in the Melbourne CBD. The full credential list is on the Melbourne aged care course page.

Studying Childcare Online, and What That Actually Means

Live Zoom sessions are scheduled. A trainer is present. You can interrupt, ask, and be answered inside the class rather than lodging a question and waiting.

That distinction matters more in early childhood than in most fields, because so much of the assessment is about how you would respond to a child in a particular moment. Those are conversations, not readings.

What you need at your end is a computer and a connection that will carry a video class the whole way through.

International students study on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and those intakes fall on set dates.

Where You Will Do Your 160 Hours

CHC30125 requires 160 hours of supervised work-based training in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. The total is counted across all the units that carry a workplace requirement, not stacked into one block at the end.

The Performance College arranges your placement and has partner sites across Victoria, so the search is not yours to run.

Placement is the component that has to fit somebody else’s roster. Say what your availability looks like when you enquire, well before you enrol.

The Working With Children Check

A current WWCC is required before you can undertake placement in a regulated children’s service. Apply early. It is free to have it sitting ready and it is the single most common cause of a delayed start.

Early Learning Around Dandenong

Dandenong has a dense early learning sector. Mayfield runs a childcare centre and kindergarten in Dandenong, KingKids operates an early learning centre locally, and G8 Education has services in the area.

Certificate III holders are employed across long day care, family day care, preschools, kindergartens and outside school hours care. It is a wider set of workplaces than the phrase “childcare” suggests, and it is worth knowing before you pick a direction.

What It Costs

The course is $2,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250, and placement assistance is included in both.

You can pay monthly or quarterly. There is no interest and there are no extra charges; the fee is divided into instalments.

Victoria subsidises training places at approved providers for eligible students, and some are fee free. Work out whether you qualify before you enrol anywhere. We are a fee paying provider, and the instalment plan is how we keep that manageable.

Questions From Dandenong

Is the online version the same qualification?

Yes. CHC30125 is CHC30125 whether the teaching happens in a room or on Zoom. What differs between providers is whether there is a live trainer or only recordings.

Do I need the Working With Children Check before enrolling?

Not before enrolling, but before placement. Applying early simply removes a bottleneck later.

How long is it?

6 to 9 months for domestic students, covering the full nationally recognised certificate.

What are the entry requirements?

18 or over when the course starts, with Year 12 or an equivalent, or a 12 month qualification completed in English. Everyone sits a short language, literacy and numeracy assessment beforehand so we know what support to put around you. International students also need IELTS 6.0 or an accepted equivalent.

Are there free childcare courses in Dandenong?

There are subsidised and fee free places in Victoria for eligible students, so check first. Ours is fee paying with interest free instalments.

Next Step

If you are comparing providers, the question worth asking each one is whether the classes are live and who is teaching them. That is where the difference sits, and it is not always obvious from the page you are reading.

Ring 03 9008 4043 or email info@tpc.edu.au. Domestic study is online, and intakes run every month except December, so enrolment and a start date are never far apart. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
