Childcare Course Pakenham: CHC30125 Studied Online
Working in a centre ten minutes from home is a realistic outcome in Pakenham in a way it is not everywhere, because there are so many of them. The qualification that gets you into one is CHC30125, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and The Performance College runs this childcare course online with live Zoom classes. Domestic students take 6 to 9 months, plus 160 hours of placement in a real service. Ring 03 9008 4043 to talk about how the placement side would work for you.
The Performance College, Registered as RTO 46069
We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. That is what allows the certificate to carry national recognition rather than stopping at our own door.
Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023, after years as a trainer and assessor watching able students struggle for want of support rather than ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.
The campus is Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD. The full credential list is on the Melbourne aged care course page.
Early Learning Services Across Pakenham
Great Beginnings, Community Kids, Eden Academy, Inspire Early Learning, Aspire Early Education and Goodstart all operate services in or around Pakenham.
That density is the practical argument for getting qualified here rather than somewhere quieter. Certificate III holders are employed across long day care, family day care, preschools, kindergartens and outside school hours care, and in a corridor with this many services those are real options rather than theoretical ones.
What the Certificate Involves
CHC30125 is the recognised entry qualification for early childhood work, nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
The units are practical. Nurturing babies and toddlers. Developing positive and respectful relationships with children. Supporting inclusion and diversity. Using an approved learning framework to guide practice. Supporting the holistic learning and development of children. Helping children connect with the natural environment.
Reading that list is the fastest way to work out whether the job is what you think it is.
The Working With Children Check, and Your 160 Hours
CHC30125 requires 160 hours of supervised work-based training in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia, counted across the units that carry a workplace requirement.
A current WWCC has to be in place before any of those hours can begin. Apply as early as you can; it is free to have ready and it is the most common thing that delays a start.
We arrange your placement and have partner sites across Victoria, so you are not approaching services cold.
Where It Leads After the Certificate
The Certificate III is the entry point, not the ceiling. Above it sits the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, CHC50125, which is what a service looks for when it appoints a room leader or an educational leader.
The Diploma asks considerably more of you on placement: 280 hours rather than 160. That is the main reason it is worth doing after you have worked in a room rather than straight off the back of the certificate. You will know by then whether leading a room is something you want.
We deliver both, so moving from one to the other does not mean starting again with a new provider.
Studying Without the Commute
Live Zoom classes are timetabled sessions with a trainer present, not a set of recordings left for you to get through alone.
From Pakenham that matters plainly: the run into the city and back is most of a day, and for anyone working or managing school hours it is usually the deciding factor.
You will need a computer and a connection that will hold a video class from start to finish.
International students study on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and their intakes fall on set dates.
Fees
The course is $2,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250, with placement assistance included in both.
Instalments are monthly or quarterly. No interest, no additional charges.
Victoria funds subsidised and fee free places at approved providers for eligible students, and the south east has funded options. Check whether you qualify before enrolling anywhere, ourselves included.
