Childcare Course Werribee: CHC30125 Certificate III Online

The hardest part of a childcare course is not the study. It is fitting 160 hours of placement around whatever you are already doing. That is worth saying first, because everything else about CHC30125, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, is straightforward: The Performance College teaches it online with live Zoom classes, Werribee students never travel for a lesson, and domestic students finish in 6 to 9 months. Ring 03 9008 4043 and we will start with the placement question rather than leave it to the end.

The Performance College and What Registration Buys You

We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. Registration is the reason the certificate is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework and carries the same weight with any employer, in any state.

Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023, after years as a trainer and assessor watching capable students struggle for want of support rather than ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.

The campus is Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD. The full credential list is on the Melbourne aged care course page.

Making 160 Hours Fit

CHC30125 requires 160 hours of supervised work-based training in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. The hours are counted across the units that carry a workplace requirement, so they are spread through the course rather than saved for a single block.

A current Working with Children Check is required before you can start any of them. Apply early; it is free to hold and it is the usual cause of a delayed start.

We arrange the placement and have partner sites across Victoria, so you are not cold calling services yourself. What we need from you is an honest picture of your availability at the enquiry stage, not after enrolment.

Why the Hours Are Spread, Not Stacked

It helps to understand how the 160 hours are counted. They are applied collectively across every unit that carries a workplace requirement, rather than sitting as one continuous block bolted onto the end of the course.

In practice that means placement runs alongside your study rather than after it, and it is why the 6 to 9 month window is a range instead of a fixed figure. Someone who can commit two days a week moves through it faster than someone who can manage one.

It also means the honest answer to “how quickly can I finish” is a question back: how many days a week can you realistically be in a service? Everything else is fixed.

Early Learning Services in Werribee

Imagine Childcare, Nido, Milestones, Aspire Early Education and Adventurers Childcare all run services in or near Werribee.

Certificate III holders work across long day care, family day care, preschools, kindergartens and outside school hours care. Werribee has grown quickly and the sector has grown with it, which is why the range of settings here is broader than the word “childcare” suggests.

What You Study

The units describe the job better than any summary. Nurturing babies and toddlers. Developing positive and respectful relationships with children. Supporting inclusion and diversity. Using an approved learning framework to guide practice. Supporting the holistic learning and development of children. Helping children connect with the natural environment.

Most of that is developmental work rather than supervision, which is the part people underestimate before they start.

Classes You Attend, From Home

Live Zoom sessions are timetabled and a trainer is in the room with you. You can ask something and have it answered in the session rather than by email a day later.

You will need a computer and a connection that will hold a video class the whole way through.

International students study on campus in the Melbourne CBD, and their intakes fall on set dates.

Fees and Funded Places

The course is $2,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250, with placement assistance included in both.

Instalments are monthly or quarterly, with no interest and no extra charges.

Victoria funds subsidised and fee free training places at approved providers for students who meet the eligibility rules, and Wyndham has publicly funded options worth investigating. Check whether you qualify before you enrol anywhere, ourselves included. We are a fee paying provider, and the instalment plan is how we keep that workable.

Werribee Questions

Can placement happen close to home?

We arrange it and where it lands depends on the service that accepts you. Given how many operate locally, say you are in Werribee at the enquiry stage so it is part of the planning.

Do I need the Working With Children Check to enrol?

Not to enrol, but to start placement. Applying early avoids the bottleneck.

What do I need to get in?

18 or over when the course begins, plus Year 12 or an equivalent, or a 12 month qualification completed in English. Everyone sits a short language, literacy and numeracy assessment first. International students also need IELTS 6.0 or an accepted equivalent.

How long is it?

6 to 9 months for domestic students, for the full nationally recognised certificate.

What comes after it?

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, CHC50125, which is what services look for in a room leader. It carries a heavier placement load, so most people do it once they have worked a while.

Before You Enrol

Get your availability clear in your own head first: which days you could be in a service, and for how long. That single answer shapes how quickly you finish, more than anything else on this page.

Ring 03 9008 4043 or email info@tpc.edu.au. Domestic study is online, and a new intake begins every month except December. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
