Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Bendigo: CHC50125 Online
If you have been working in a Bendigo early learning room and want to lead one, CHC50125 is the qualification that gets you there. The diploma of early childhood education and care Bendigo educators step up to asks you to hold a Certificate III first, so it is the level above the entry qualification rather than the way in. The Performance College teaches it online with live Zoom classes, and domestic students take 6 to 9 months. Ring 03 9008 4043 if you are unsure whether what you already hold counts.
The Performance College
We are a registered training organisation, RTO 46069, and a CRICOS registered provider, CRICOS 04180C. The diploma is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework, so it holds its value in any state and with any employer.
Rekha Sehrawat founded the college in 2023, after years as a trainer and assessor watching capable students struggle for want of support rather than ability. We have 100+ domestic graduates so far.
The campus is Level 5, 398 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD. The full credential list is on the Melbourne aged care course page.
What You Need Before You Enrol
You must hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. If you have been working in a service without one, Recognition of Prior Learning is available and it is worth asking about rather than assuming you are locked out.
Beyond that: 18 or over when the course starts, Year 12 or an equivalent, or a 12 month qualification completed in English. Everyone sits a short language, literacy and numeracy assessment before the course begins so we know what support to put in place.
How Long It Takes
6 to 9 months for a domestic student. That is the full nationally recognised diploma.
The variable inside that window is placement. The diploma carries 280 hours of supervised work-based training, and the hours are counted across every unit that requires workplace time rather than saved for a block at the end. Someone who can be in a service two days a week finishes sooner than someone managing one.
What It Costs
The diploma is $3,500 for domestic students. Enrolment is a further $250, and placement assistance is included in both.
Instalments are monthly or quarterly. No interest, no additional charges; the fee is divided up.
Victoria funds subsidised and fee free training places at approved providers for students who meet the eligibility rules, and there are publicly funded options in the Bendigo area. Eligibility turns on residency, age and what you have already completed. Find out where you stand before you enrol anywhere, ourselves included. We are a fee paying provider, which is why the instalment plan exists.
What the Diploma Prepares You To Do
The certificate gets you into a room. The diploma is what a service looks for when it appoints an educational leader.
You will cover child development across physical, cognitive, social and emotional dimensions, designing play-based learning experiences, establishing health and safety protocols, building partnerships with families, and the ethical and legal responsibilities that come with running a program rather than working inside one.
The roles it opens are early childhood educator, family day care educator, educational leader and outside school hours care educator.
About Pay, and Why We Will Not Quote a Figure
People ask what the qualification is worth per hour, and the truthful answer is that we cannot give you a number that would mean anything.
It depends on your classification, your hours, whether you are permanent or casual, and who employs you. Rates also move. Any single figure on a course page is either stale or averaged to the point of uselessness, and people make decisions on it.
Ask a service directly what they pay a diploma qualified educator, and what they pay a Certificate III holder. The gap between those two numbers is the actual return on doing this course, and only an employer can tell you what it is.
Placement, and the Checks That Come With It
CHC50125 requires 280 hours of supervised work-based training in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.
Before any of it you will need a police clearance certificate no more than 12 months old, a valid Working with Children clearance, and immunisation checks where the placement provider asks for them. Start those early. They are the usual reason a diploma placement slips.
We arrange the placement and have partner sites across Victoria, so finding a service is not left to you.
Early Learning Services Around Bendigo
Village Early Education, Aspire Early Education and Creative Garden all run centres in Bendigo, and G8 Education operates in the area.
Services of that size need educational leaders as well as educators, which is the practical case for holding the diploma rather than stopping at the certificate.

Where to Start
If you already hold the Certificate III, the only real question left is timing: how many days a week you can be in a service. That single answer sets your finish date more than anything else here.
Ring 03 9008 4043 or email info@tpc.edu.au. Domestic study is online, and a fresh intake opens every month except December. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
